Chicago-Style Deep-Dish Pizza

Ingredients: For the Crust: 1. 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 2. 1/2 cup cornmeal 3. 1 tablespoon sugar 4. 1 1/4 teaspoons salt

For the Filling: 1. 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 2. 1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled 3. 1 cup sliced bell peppers 4. 1 cup sliced onions 5. 1 cup sliced mushrooms

1. 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes 2. 1 teaspoon dried oregano 3. 1 teaspoon dried basil 4. Salt and pepper to taste

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, and salt. 2. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

1. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms. 2. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.

For the Filling: 1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). 2. Roll out the risen dough to fit a deep-dish pizza pan. 3. Press the dough into the pan, making sure to cover the sides.

For the Sauce: 1. In a bowl, mix the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Spread this mixture over the pizza toppings.

Assembly: 1. Drizzle the olive oil over the top and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. 2. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
